The name Wivdè Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Wivdè Se was founded by Merle Nash, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Wivdè Se has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Wivdè Se receives an average of 161 cm/y (63 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Wivdè Se covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4018 m (13182 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Wivdè Se was founded durring the early 12th century in spring of the year 1111, by Merle Nash. The establishment of Wivdè Se was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Wivdè Se's construction back out of the project. Merle Nash pushed on reguardles, and Wivdè Se was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Wivdè Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wivdè Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.
Wivdè Se is was constructed arround several broad packed earth mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Wivdè Se's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. Wivdè Se's political statment focused walls are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.
Wivdè Se is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife.
Civic Infrastructure
Wivdè Se has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Wivdè Se.
Wivdè Se has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Wivdè Se has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Wivdè Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Wivdè Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Wivdè Se possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Wivdè Se's grid is powered by mana accumulators.
Wivdè Se's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.
Wivdè Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Wivdè Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
The locals are in a state of despair and dull apathy. They've lost the things that used to give them pride and hope, with the best among them carrying on out of habitual duty and the worst giving ready hands to shameful deeds and ignoble acts. No one really believes the future can be better, and most seek only to satisfy immediate appetites.
Wivdè Se's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.
In Wivdè Se most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.
The Shasalqu near Wivdè Se are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
Wivdè Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves square dance to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 1 via speaking in tongues.
